Spring is around the corner

Our winter share at Wildwood is turning to spring.

the share this week

Pots of herbs thrive along the center of the greenhouse.

These are the same beds as the last post, starting with the tatsoi that was just peeking through the soil at the beginning of April.

Some new residents are being welcomed to the farm. They are sure to be a hit at school visits.

Since I have lettuce in my share this week, I thought I would share my new favorite dressing recipe:
Whisk together:
3/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup cider vinegar
2 TBS honey
1 TBS whole grain mustard
1 minced garlic clove
1 chopped sprig of rosemary
sea salt and pepper to taste

Happy eating!

Welcome to the farm!

Good, local food. That is what I desire to feed my family and that is what I hope to provide by being a part of Wildwood Family Farms (www.wildwoodfamilyfarms.com). Justin and Kelly Heyboer (who live on the farm) and Aaron and Karen Snell, our farmers, are already working  to provide our CSA (community supported agriculture) with a season of wonderful, fresh food.

Here is what is in store for us:

The greenhouses are already alive with greens. And the fields are being prepared.

a farm fresh meal in April in Michigan - now that is good food!

Happy eating!
